This heirloom Cantaloupe, also known as a Muskmelon, is one of the most popular varieties for home or market gardening. It is an early producer and is known for its ribbed oval shape, thick-walled salmon colored flesh an aromatic smell and a sweet taste. Great enjoyed fresh for breakfast but also can be a savory treat paired with prosciutto or simply cut in half, with its seeds scoped out, and filled with a delicious Port wine. Introduced in 1924 by way of a Japanese market grower in California by I. D. Hales. The melon can get up to 5lbs, with a small seed cavity, and is also high in vitamin C, B and A.
