Thought to be first cultivated by a European nun in the 11th century, the Calendula is a multi-use beautiful flower which grows prolific blooms all through the summer months. Also known as a “Pot Marigold” it attracts bees, butterflies and other pollinators to your vegetables or herbs while providing a bright burst of fragrant color to your garden. The flower petals can be dried and made into an antioxidant rich herbal tea which is said to help with a sore throat or mouth. The flower has may other culinary and medicinal uses that can be utilized during its extended bloom time.
