The Minusinsk Lion (or Minusinskiy Lev) is a robust Russian heirloom from Siberia, famous for producing massive, ribbed red beefsteak fruits that frequently weigh between one and two pounds. Despite their giant size, these tomatoes mature quickly in about 70 days, offering a classic, old-fashioned flavor that perfectly balances sweetness with a rich acidic tang. The indeterminate plants are exceptionally hardy and productive, but they require heavy-duty support to prevent their enormous, meaty fruit clusters from snapping the vines.
