Tomato - Mint Julep

Tomato - Mint Julep
A visually stunning addition to any garden, the Mint Julep is a prolific producer of small, plum or pear-shaped fruits weighing roughly 1.5 to 4 ounces. Developed by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms, this unique variety is a naturally occurring variant of the popular Green Zebra, featuring a chartreuse green background adorned with striking bright yellow stripes and speckles. Its firm, meaty interior is a vivid lime green, offering a flavor profile that is notably sweeter and less tart than many other green tomato varieties.
This indeterminate (vining) variety is a powerhouse in the garden, capable of yielding up to 5 gallons of fruit per plant over a single season. To achieve the best results, start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost and transplant them into a full sun location once the soil has warmed. The vigorous plants typically reach maturity in about 75 days and require sturdy caging or trellising to support their heavy clusters of 10 to 20 fruits. These eye-catching tomatoes are perfect for fresh snacking, vibrant summer salads, or as an elegant garnish for culinary creations.
