In 1991, R. W. Richardson from New York introduced this variety to Seed Savers Exchange. The original seed was acquired through a trade with a gardener from West Virginia. The plants are highly productive and bear 7-inch long red paste tomatoes that are rich in flavor and have few seeds. The plants are also very productive and produce an abundance of mild and sweet, gourmet type flavorful pink fruit. They are particularly suitable for processing and make excellent sauces and paste as well as fresh eating on salads and sandwiches, and are a great addition to salsas. This variety is truly a beautifully flavorful one!
